The infamous 2004 Maybach 57 from the “Otis” video, that endured a saber-saw and blow torch make-over, is going on the auction block March 8th, 2012 in New York City.
Phillips de Pury Company, the auction firm handling the sale of the customized Maybach, predicts the “penultimate luxury car” will still bring in more that $100,000 when the gavel comes down in the auction.
Although many shook their head at $350,000 car’s destruction of the symbol of wealth, the funds from the sale of the video vehicle is going to a good cause. Communities overwhelmed by drought in the East African region will be the beneficiaries of the sale by way of Save the Children Fund.
This no longer street legal, Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH, can be your if your bid is right. Live bids can be made via Liveauctioneers.com
